Urban Octopus – Located at Smitty’s Garage, 3441 Adams Ave

We believe that the true power of art is its ability to push the mind into a state of wonder.
Our designs are created with the intention of carrying the viewer into that state of mind.
We hand-print (silk screen) our artwork only onto the highest quality garments so you can enjoy wearing them as much as we enjoy creating them.

San Diego Children’s Discovery Museum – Located at the Adams Elementary Circle Stage, Across from 4650 Mansfield St

Since 1999 San Diego Children’s Discovery Museum has been “inspiring children to learn about our world through exploration, imagination, and experimentation.” Today we remain the only hands-on educational children’s museum in North San Diego County, serving children ages 0-10 with interactive exhibits and programs focused on science, world cultures, and art. Our central location in Escondido allows us to serve children and families across San Diego County, as well as West Imperial County, and South Riverside and Orange Counties.

Interactive experiences are a crucial element of learning. Our Museum features four focused program areas: Experimentation (science, math, engineering), Exploration (world cultures, history), Imagination (theater arts, visual arts, music), and Discovery (outdoor space featuring gardens, environmental science, world cultures, arts).

Purple Hippo Studio – Located at Smittys Garage, 3441 Adams Ave

It all started with a shopping tote 10 years ago. We were surprised by the interest and started making more. Bored with just making totes and challenged by our growing stash of fabric, Purple Hippo Studio was born.

Today, you can find us at craft  shows throughout San Diego. We make everything we sell. From reversible aprons (#1 seller) and oven gloves to embroidered dishtowels and stand mixer covers, every product is made with thought and care. We would like to thank our customers who have supported us through this journey, especially our regulars who have been bugging us to set up a website.  Ta-dah!
